Job Summary:  The SAP FI/CO Functional/Technical Associate is a self-directed team member that manages the more complex functional and technical SAP ECC projects, enhancements, and programs within Hormann North America. This SAP FI/CO module professional is responsible for delivering large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our company and customers achieve high performance. They design, implement, and deploy SAP FI/CO solutions to achieve defined business goals. Also, they maintain skills in SAP FI/CO applications process design and configuration; SAP FI/CO application design, development, integration, testing, and deployment; and SAP FI/CO application technical architecture.  This person will implement assigned enterprise/local IT projects through their full life cycle from project definition and approval through closing and all project deliverables in parallel. This position will be required to act as the go-to person regarding business analysis for SAP implementations and maintenance.The SAP FI/CO Functional/Technical Associate will be a detailed oriented, pragmatic, analytical, professional with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can drive, influence, and collaborate with a multitude of stakeholders, sponsors, and technical teams to meet project goals. He/she is a project leader within their area of responsibility with proven experience in managing multi-year, multi-phase enterprise software, data, infrastructure, and technical projects. 

The SAP FI/CO Functional/Technical Associate is a highly valued member of the IT Applications Team and is expected to contribute, act with initiative, and assist others on the team – even if outside their current skill set. SAP FI/CO module knowledge is required.


Major Responsibilities/Activities: Collaborate with internal and external personnel – customers and colleagues. As an expert for our IT Application products, an SAP FI/CO Functional/Technical Associate may be given additional assignments which could require the utilization of any number of resources and skill sets to achieve task objectives. While such projects could require skills or resources outside of the normal scope of the position(s) such assignments are to be expected and are not considered outside the scope of this position’s responsibilities. This person will also design, develop, and produce standard and ad hoc reports and correspondence.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business management, information systems, or related disciplines. Experience can be substituted.
  • Three years of relevant SAP implementation experience preferably with SAP ECC in multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in IT project work, applications development, deployments, and upgrades.
  • Design and implementation of SAP FICO processes in the discrete manufacturing industry
  • Design and implementation of GL accounting, AR, AP, Asset Management, Foreign Exchange handling, Bank Management, Tax Determination, Intercompany processes, etc.
  • Design and implementation of Profit Center Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, Product Costing, COPA, etc.
  • Integration into other logistics modules
  • Rollouts of existing SAP processes to the North American locations
  • Localization to meet US regulatory requirements.
  • Projects involving special topics of intercompany billing, Sales Order cost controlling, and Controlling for MTO or ETO manufacturing.
  • Strong functional knowledge and experience in Finance and Controlling involving the processes mentioned above in the responsibilities section.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in SAP FICO on multiple projects in following processes.
  • GL, AR, AP, Intercompany, Asset Management, US taxes, foreign exchange, Banking, Credit management
  • Cost center accounting, Profit center accounting, COPA, cost element accounting,
  • Cost object controlling, internal orders, and product costing.
  • Experience in the implementation of an interface with external taxation systems like VERTEX, AVALARA, etc. Experience creating functional specifications for RICEF objects.
  • Experience working with developers.
  • Good knowledge of business processes in a typical manufacturing industry
  • Ability to act as a business analyst.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative.
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies and tools.

 

 

Essential Mental/Physical Functions: Be detailed - always seeking to clarify and make solutions easier for non-technical people and our customers.  Must be able to utilize time wisely and be predisposed to a high level of interaction in a team environment. Successful candidates must be highly organized, self-motivated individuals who can work independently without continuous supervision. Be open and honest (not argumentative) with fellow staff members. When appropriate, not afraid to “take the lead” and show the team the “art of the possible” with project management. Although a support employee is not expected to perform extraneous physical activities in the completion of their work, occasional trips into areas of production will be necessary, therefore, they must be physically able to safely maneuver in production areas. May require walking primarily on a level surface for specific periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Sitting for prolonged periods is essential. Must be able to utilize multiple modes of transportation.


Equipment Used: This employee utilizes computers, monitors, and peripheral devices continually. Knowledge of MS Project Plan III, all MS Office applications, and MS Teams is required. Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP, and previous implementations of an ERP system is important.


Travel: Occasional travel may be involved, the majority within the USA. However, trips to Germany, Canada, Mexico, or other countries on occasion may be warranted. Therefore, a passport is required or capable of obtaining a passport once hired. All other travel documents as required for entry to foreign countries and back into the USA is required.
