Accounting Manager

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

Our company is a Michigan-based management and development company with a commitment to create value for its investors and tenants.  Our mission is to provide affordable housing communities throughout Michigan.

 

We are currently looking for an experienced full-time accounting manager to oversee multiple properties located throughout Michigan.

 

Responsibilities include processing accounting for multiple properties: reconciling and balancing accounts and bank statements, AR & AP, posting journal entries, generating monthly reports, processing payroll and 1099’s, assist with new property set ups, assisting in annual audits, assisting in annual budgets.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

Includes, but not limited to the following:

• Budget preparation in accordance with the different governing bodies and investors
• Financial reporting, with an understanding of how the financial statements provide a picture of how the property is performing
• Reconcile and balance accounts for multiple properties, completed monthly
• Monthly and quarterly reporting for entire portfolio
• New property set-up
• Audit preparation
• Monitor financial ledgers for entire portfolio
• Post journal entries
• Read financial statements, able to provide comments to owners and investors about monthly transactions and variances
• Calculate escrow analysis and adjust accordingly

 

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of affordable property management experience
• CPA certification is preferred
• Knowledge of affordable housing, local, state & federal regulations
• Strong knowledge of Yardi Property Management Software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to juggle workflow based on deadlines
