ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This Medical Assistant role is primarily to serve as a technician to administer procedures in the office. Training will be provided by the clinical team. Included in this role will be:
- Administration and observation of the patient during treatment
- Documentation of the treatment
- Tracking of referrals, and those patients that are in the queue for future procedures
- Prior authorization and support of the clinical team for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, TMS as well as Spravato and other procedures
- Interdisciplinary team communication on the patient experience, as well as the insurance coverage and benefits
- Working collaboratively with the administrative and billing team to ensure all requirements of the procedures are fully met
Administrative duties include:
- Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, cooperative, sensitive, respectful and kind with all patients, visitors, the public and all colleagues
- Clerical duties such as answering telephones, check-in, checkout and record processing as requested, appointment scheduling and patient intake, data verification, office communications
- Attends staff meetings as required
- Understanding of insurance benefits, take patient payments, verify benefits, and support the billing team in gathering the information needed
- Maintains certifications per state guidelines
- Performs duties to achieve or exceed established service standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience
- MA licensure
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Education/Experience
- Knowledge of TMS and/or Spravato would be an asset
- Clinic or office experience preferred
- EMR knowledge
- Excel and/or strong computer skills
