Job Summary

The Liaison Engineer investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine the nature and scope of problem. They evaluate the findings to formulate a corrective action plan and coordinate implementation of plan. They consult with project engineers as necessary to obtain specialized information.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Work directly with Manufacturing, Product Assurance, Purchasing, Experimental, and more to complete Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
  • Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  • Serve as a member of the Material Review Board to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and facilitate correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.
  • Create and revise solid models and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using Creo Parametric.
  • Manage, promote and release data using Windchill PDM.
  • Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Position level based on applicant experience (1-10 years) in design/engineering work.
  • Aviation and Composites experience desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills on technical issues.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work as part of a cross functional team with manufacturing and product assurance.
  • Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • PDM: Windchill 11 or similar desired.
  • MES: Solumina or similar desired.
  • CAD: Creo 3.0+ (Pro-Engineer) using top down skeleton models, or similar desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Work directly with Manufacturing, Product Assurance, Purchasing, Experimental, and more to complete Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
