We are in need of substitutes willing to work in all three of our programs: Infant/toddler, preschool, and elementary. If you are looking for aflexible scheduleand have astrong desire to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere to our childrenby talking, listening, and engaging with children from six weeks to twelve years of age, we would love to meet you.

This position is on-call and as needed with all hours falling between 7 am and 6 pm Monday-Friday (please note that you do not have to be available during all opening hours to apply).We cannot guarantee hours to substitute staff, but can frequently assign our substitutes between 25-40 hours a week, if they so desire the time.Substitute staff frequently have the opportunity to move into full-time or part-time set schedules within 6-9 months of initial hire.

Hours per week:0-40 hours, as staffing needs and/or your schedule allows.

Duties

  • Provide coverage for staff members who unable to be present at the center due to scheduled time off of unexpected illness or other emergencies.
  • Work a flexible schedule assigned weekly by center administrators and maintain availability to come into the center to cover staff call-outs.
  • Implement substitute plans that are left by the lead teacher.
  • Assist teachers with the implementation of our HighScope curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child.
  • Support your center's success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, and community contacts.


Requirements

Education and Other Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to be certified through our center.
  • Willingness to complete required training in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to pass a full background check.
  • Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors.
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.

Necessary Characteristics:
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
  • Of good character and reputation.
  • Capable of carrying out assigned responsibilities.
  • Capable of accepting training and supervision.
  • Capable of communicating effectively both orally and in writing as applicable to the job responsibility.


Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in a professional setting is preferred.
  • Willing to drive a mini school bus to transport children to/from school and/or field trip destinations (no CDL required).
  • A CDA or degree in early childhood is desired but not required. We will help navigate your education path if this is your desire.
  • MAT certified and/or SAFE certified is a plus!
