Job Description

1. Objective:

The primary objective of the Production Manager is to manage overall OEM operations of facility and for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality
control and safety measures as established and set by the company.

2. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production process and coordinate all activities to ensure enough resources on hand to meet customer demand.
  • Organize and facilitate workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Adherence to departmental approved budget with goal of minimizing expenses and​​​​​​ maximizing profitability.
  • Manage and maintain inventory and stock costs and controls to align with customer​​​​​​ demand and facility fiscal budget.
  • Liaise with other managers, Customer Service, Engineering, and Quality to formulate objectives and understand requirements and to ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure on-time delivery to customers and that output meets ISO standards.
  • Plan and create long-term initiatives that grow and further the company’s overall goals
  • Monitor production to identify and resolve issues
  • Manage relationships with clients and client pricing files
  • Work closely with Production Supervisor, Team Leads, and Inspectors to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and follow through with implementation (final approval of documents may be required by Safety, Engineering, etc.)
  • Partner with HR to recruit, select, train, assign, and monitor performance of production staff
  • Additional duties as assigned

3. Qualifications:

  • Basic math comprehension (fractions, add/subtract, division, multiplication)
  • Read/write English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Hydraulics preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and leadership skills
  • Deep knowledge of production management and key production metrics

4. Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow Safety standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
  • Participate in the Total Continuous Improvement program
  • Attend all employee Safety Meetings
  • Use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
  • Observe restricted areas and all warning signs

  • Work environment varies depending on job function, site and activity. This role will generally be exposed to both indoor office working conditions, as well as, warehouse conditions. Warehouse area provides protection from outside weather/elements in most cases but is not climate controlled. Adequate lighting and ventilation exist in all areas of the facility.
