Job Title: DTA Program Supervisor

Department: Day Training (DTA)

Reports To: DTA Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

OBJECTIVE

Provide daily supervisory management for a Day Training Program (DTA).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  1. Provide the daily supervisory management of the program's operations including planning, marketing, organizing, evaluating, and improving service and personnel.
  2. Monitor the safety, development and orientation of all program personnel and members.
  3. Attend member PCSP meetings, develop appropriate member PCSP goals and assure they are carried out.
  4. Maintain a positive rapport with parents, guardians, support coordinator and all Gompers' staff.
  5. Complete any special assignment given by DTA Director, VP of Operations and President/CEO.
  6. Communicate with the Transportation Director to facilitate the transportation needs of the DTA program.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise Direct Support Professional.


AUTHORITY

  1. Implement, coordinate, and evaluate all program activities according to Gompers' policies, budget and management directives.
  2. Initiate and be responsive in situations requiring disciplinary action. This shall include the authority to settle grievances, resolve disputes and issue oral or written coaching.
  3. Evaluate the employee's performance in written form, jointly set goals with the employee.
  4. Establish the work assignments and work schedule for all employees supervised and make adjustments in that schedule due to variations in the workload, absences of scheduled employees and other emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate degree in related field and three (3) years of experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the President/CEO. Supervisory experience preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to clearly communicate instructions to staff.

Bilingual -Spanish


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic calculations.


REASONING ABILITY

Able to reason through issues with staff and members and determine appropriate course of action.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  1. CPR, First Aid, Article 9 and Prevention and Support Training. If you do not hold these certifications, Gompers will provide training.
  2. A valid Arizona Driver's License and a clear 39-month Arizona Motor Vehicle Report Required.
  3. Fingerprint Clearance Card.

There are no significant environmental concerns; however, DTA Program Supervisors may be subject to performing Direct Support Professional/Driver functions at times. The potential from injuries are limited by implementation of appropriate Prevention and Support techniques, but risk still exists of being bitten, scratched, kicked or hit by members. Changing of adult briefs and toileting is part of the job.
