Our School
Houston Classical Charter School (“Houston Classical”) was chartered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to open in Houston in August 2020 beginning with kindergarten and first grade. The school has an accomplished and committed Board, which includes a founding Board and a Head of School. We are looking for experienced, dedicated, and motivated individuals who are excited by the challenge of being part of a new school. Houston Classical is founded on the idea that scholars can learn at a high level notwithstanding their zip code or background.

Responsibilities
- Teach a developmentally appropriate P.E. curriculum to scholars in Pre K, Elementary and Middle School grades.
- Develop lessons that encourage participation, creativity, problem-solving, and healthy competition.
- Be a self-starter who enjoys collaborating as a team player. Maintain an open and cooperative relationship with scholars, colleagues, and parents.
- Participate in faculty and department meetings and perform various faculty supervisory duties on campuses were assigned in the day
- Develops and administers school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to scholar learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all scholar activities, achievement and attendance as required by procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourages parental involvement in scholar's education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards as outlined in the Student Handbooks and establishes and maintains standards of scholar behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.

- State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or Kinesiology or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
