Job Title: Catholic Music Director

Location: Fort Myer, VA 22211

Duties:

• Perform as a Catholic Director of Music to support the Gospel Congregation at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on a weekly basis, consisting of approximately 10-12 hours per week.
• The Applicant shall facilitate the communal, public worship life to enhance the full and active participation of the assembly or congregation.
• The Applicant shall plan, administer, and evaluate the quality of musical experiences in collaboration with Religious Denomination Military Chaplain, Chaplain Staff, Religious Affairs Specialists, and the DA Civilian workforce.
• The Applicant shall provide support for those services for which no Unit Ministry Team (UMT) members (Chaplains and Religious Affairs Specialists), RSO Department of the Army(DA) Civilians, and volunteers can provide.

Services:

• 52 Catholic Services for Saturdays at 5:00 PM
• 52 Catholic services for Sundays at 9:00 am.
• Catholic Rehearsals Wednesday at 3:30 PM
• Holiday Services 12
• Holiday rehearsals 12
• Special Services 12
• Special rehearsals 12

Qualifications:

• Years of experience as a church musician or member of the church choir.
• Deep knowledge of choral repertoire and Christian scripture.
• Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and has experience in leading in music ministry. Ability to lead music while playing an instrument (especially piano or guitar) will be highly beneficial for the work environment.
