POSITION

Blue Cliff College is seeking a Learning Resource Coordinator responsible for providing all students and faculty with orientation, guidance and problem solving in issues related to strategies for the acquisition of knowledge, conducting research and satisfying their educational needs; Provide guidance to students and faculty in using proper study skills techniques, employing time management tools, knowing and utilizing Campus Learning Resource Systems, accessing and using the Campus Library, assessing and using the Campus Online Library, Ebrary, written assignment production skills and verbal assignment presentation skills.

JOB DUTIES

  • Conduct orientations for all new students/faculty on Ebrary and the Learning Resources System: Strategies for Blue Cliff College Students
  • Provides students/faculty with guidance and problem solving in issues related to strategies for the acquisition of knowledge, conducting research and satisfying their educational needs
  • Staffs the Campus Library during assigned hours of operation
  • Serves as the Campus’ Ebrary Online Library Ombudsman for student, staff and faculty
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in using proper study skills techniques
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in employing time management tools
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in knowing and utilizing Campus Learning Resource Systems
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in accessing and using the Campus Library
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in accessing and using the Campus Online Library: Ebrary
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in written assignment production skills
  • Assists in mentoring, training and guiding students/faculty in verbal assignment presentation skills
  • May be required to work extra hours to include evenings or weekends, as necessary, for effective operation of the Education Department
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  •  Expert knowledge about collection development and library acquisitions management systems
  • Proficient knowledge of educational technology including installation and use of hardware and software
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to coordinate meetings and projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide customer service to staff
  • Ability to proofread alpha and numeric data
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work with faculty, staff and students

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Library Science, Computer Science or a closely related field  required
  • Master’s Degree, preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) year professional experience in classroom and/or lab instructional setting in higher education
  • Experience in information and communications technologies and current best practices, including equipment set-up and repair
  • Experience in informatics and online databases

COMPENSATION

In the spirit of pay transparency, we can share that the pay range for this position is $19-$22 per hour, commensurate with experience. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
