YOUR DAY TO DAY:

Performs complex set-ups and lead machining operations on standard machine tools using all accessory tools and equipment necessary to build intricate parts or mechanisms required for prototype products; under minimum supervision.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Creating machining methods, assigning work, leading and training machinists.
  • Programing and operating 2 & 3 axis Bridgeport Acu-Rite Retrofit CNC mills.
  • Act as backup for CNC programing and operations of Matsuura, Moori Seiki and Robodrill.
  • Performing manual machining using Hardinge lathe, LeBlond lathe, Bridgeport, and Deckle mills.
  • Designing and fabricate tooling for machining.
  • Reads and interprets all drawing necessary to perform the assigned production operations.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  1. Conversational Programming experience.
  2. Prior Bridgeport Acu-Rite retro programing and operating experience or willing to learn.
  3. Must have five or more years of CNC programing and manual machining experience.
  4. Must be willing to train others.
  5. Must read mechanical drawings and have extensive knowledge of geometric tolerance (advanced geometry and trigonometry calculations required).
  6. Must be capable of performing Machinist Journey Levels tasks effectively.
  7. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  8. This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
