Logistics Analyst Onsite in Fairbanks, AK Position Summary We are seeking a Logistics Analyst for our Field Services Office in Fairbanks, Alaska. As a member of the SES S&D team, you will play an integral part with logistics management, material handling, shipping, and receiving materials to ensure audit accountability of communications systems that operate on regional support networks 24x7x365. To be successful, you must maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of integrated logistics support plans, data base tracking, and lifecycle management of materials to sustain these networks. These functions include maintaining chain of custody of SES Space & Defense equipment, customer equipment, spares management, and return materials authorizations (RMAs). You will be required proactively respond to logistic support requests for spares to repair system anomalies and coordinate on-site support to the Systems Manager and Field Services. Support will involve equipment tracking from order, materials receipts, to include return of materials to manufacturer until full service operational capability is restored and the action is closed. Primary Responsibilities Provides liaison to Global NOSC, Logistics, Level 3 Support and Field Service Communications Professionals as it pertains to handling of incoming and outgoing materials for multiple customers networks consisting of telecommunications infrastructure, and deployable communications systems across Alaska and Southern California Candidate will load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, warehouse, storage facility or worksite with Field Service teams and Systems Manager for transport to designated sites and ensure systems maintenance and logistics support plans are adhered to Work with the Director of Trade Compliance and Logistics to improve current system functions, processes, and daily operations to meet company goals Analyze, organize, plan, and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning of spares, or maintenance/repair activities Will be required to monitor shipping performance to Delivery Tracking Schedule (DTS) and ensure movement of products from production through packaging, shipping, to receipt of materials Opens containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools Conveys materials from storage to worksites to include the warehouse floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, or forklift Counts, weighs, and records materials received, moved, or handled in the Zeus database system and SES SD accounts payable system for proof of delivery Attaches tags or labels all materials received and departing the warehouse Develops logistics plans to enhance distribution of goods and supplies across Alaska and SOCAL Review and understand standard operational procedures for operational requirements and best practices Detail oriented and organized; able to understand logistics requirements and be exact in assessments Be able to conduct and document proof of concept testing of hardware, software, and services Perform both hardware and software updates and/or changes to equipment as necessary Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks across internal and external teams Must be able to work with Project Managers and Project Engineers to coordinate RMA actions, provide monthly warehouse equipment availability and RMA reports for SES SD assets by location Performs other miscellaneous tasks related to shipments and incoming materials Responsible for the storage and organization of materials Self-motivated team player, excellent problem-solving skills, and solid written and verbal communications skills Be able to complete other assigned tasks as directed Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Training in Trade Compliance, Logistics, Material Handling, Shipping and equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience Advanced and specialized training in materials management systems during cold weather operations Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications (Visio, Excel, Zeus, Costpoint, Salesforce) Minimum (2) years' experience in a Logistics Analyst support role Respond to, and be able to determine and implement, appropriate logistic support actions for troubleshooting Be able to document all actions in accordance with established policies Strong communication skills (written & oral) Ability to deal with customers at all levels in stressful situations Recent experience with military personnel and equipment Ability to test/terminate various copper and fiber-optic cabling as required This position will require travel throughout Alaska and to CONUS locations; less than 25% SES Space & Defense is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
