Responsibilities

Lead Packaging Management Team

  • Leader over critical functional areas of the business including client service, forecasting, procurement and finance
  • Manager of individual contributors; responsible for their development and growth
  • Continuously strive to identify potential areas of improvement in internal processes, collaboration and connectivity across stakeholders
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and clear communication with manufacturers, retailers, vendors and the Daymon team. Actively communicate any ongoing situations for both internal and and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Foster culture of collaboration, teamwork and operational excellence. Supervise, support, develop, and inspire the team to meet both personal and company goals/objectives.

Business and Operations Management

  • Monitor overall quality of agency relationships, providing leadership and guidance to the team on relationship building/management
  • Actively develop processes to make the team, and our day-to-day actions, more effective and efficient. Partner with cross-functional teams to support improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or change course in order to keep up with rapid market changes
  • Manage print partners and maintain viable, long-term business partnerships. Develop and grow network of vendors, ensuring network can deliver on cost, capabilities, and quality expectations required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely forecasting with manufacturers, retailers and vendors
  • Effectively manage inventory using LEAN strategies to mitigate costs/liability and excess on hand stock.
  • Maintain and manage relationships with senior leaders at our clients and vendors

P&L Management

  • Responsible for the management and profitable growth of the business P&L. Will analyze and report on financial performance using all systems available, and make recommendations on procurement decisions and/or inventory level adjustments based on current financial performance.
  • Oversees procurement decisions, including timing and quantity of purchases, to ensure timely, adequate, and appropriate levels of customer packaging that meet company revenue and profit targets.
  • Responsible for margin preservation and improvement through management of internal operations. This includes identification, documentation, evolution, and communication of internal processes, working to improve operational efficiencies and improve margin.
  • Lead for new business development. This includes both the financials (pricing/P&L) and the pitch creation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Field of Study/Area of Experience: Business Adminstration, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing
  • 5-7 years of experience in packaging procurement, printing, supply chain, logistics and/or Private Brand experience a plus
  • Proficient at managing and negotiating vendor relationships; background in creating and negotiating contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow complex P&L's, including buying and selling of goods
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage cross-functional teams
  • ERP software experience preferred - eg: JDE, AX, MS Dynamics

Position Summary
