The RoleAspen Technology, industry leader in Process Simulation, Engineering and Asset Optimization software is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual as a Product Manager, focusing on Aspen OptiPlant 3D and OptiRouter initiatives in Engineering reporting to Sr Manager of Product Management. The product initiatives aim at empowering users to automatically develop 3D multi-discipline conceptual models for optioneering the layout and developing an optimized design. The role will include accelerating customer value and product adoption while growing the overall product. The Product Manager will also contribute to the overall technical roadmap and sales enablement strategy for Aspen Engineering Suite.

  • Ownership of the Aspen Conceptual Layout family of products.
  • Responsible for product market analysis, business plan, growth projections and financial performance of the new products.
  • Close working relationship with research and development team to define product requirements, roadmap and end user scenarios.
  • Close working relationship with marketing and sales on a worldwide basis.
  • Collaborating with customers and translating feedback from the customers into software requirements and product strategy to achieve rapid adoption of the software.
  • Evangelize products within and outside the organization.
  • A passion for driving adoption and usage of software products and for enhancing work practices.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Piping Engineering or similar engineering degree with 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 5 or more years' experience in hands on process engineering, design and modeling solutions required.
  • Energy, Chemical or EPC industry experience in engineering design or operations
  • Prior experience in Product Management is a plus.
  • Background in using software tools for engineering design including 2D PFD or P&ID generation, 3D modeling, mechanical equipment design or other engineering deliverables to deliver value in the process industries.
  • Good understanding of the end user needs, business drivers and industry practices in pre-FEED, FEED, and Detail Design stages of the project.
  • Prior work experience in the use of 3D modeling and design software will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate the product message.
  • Strong leadership skills with track record in leading successful project, product or business initiatives
