What you'll be doing...

The Verizon Business Group Technology Solutions team is on the lookout for an exceptional Sr. Manager to spearhead the technical product delivery of wireless/wireline solutions, platforms, and tools. This dynamic role involves managing the continuous evolution of cutting-edge technologies and services. You'll work in close collaboration with diverse teams, including Product Management, IT, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations, to prioritize and implement scalable solutions.

The candidate will drive the prioritization between architecting solutions that scale and prioritize to meet short term needs, across the broad set of services provided by Verizon and key partners, such as SaaS and cloud partners. You will own understanding the technical challenges, defining requirements and roadmaps, and driving implementation with our internal and external development partners. You will report to the Director of Integrated Solutions for Secure Connectivity.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Set strategy, define the product, and make the difficult, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market.

  • Author documents relating to product life cycle including product roadmap, business requirements and functional specifications.

  • Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Public cloud and SaaS experience, including but not limited to AWS, GCP, Azure, SalesForce, IBM, and SAP.

  • Understanding of security & products / vendors (SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, IAM Threat Detection, Segmentation etc.)

  • Drive Engineering to deliver full integration of Verizon solutions and services for an end to end, device to application, experience.

  • Understand operational and management services, including aspects of compliance management, cost control, automation, devops, patch management and automation framework.

  • Works across multiple regions/geographies and teams to develop and/or implement road-mapped services, solutions, or programs and associated processes to meet emerging customer requirements.

  • Deliver integrated solutions supporting Verizon products that reside on or interact with the technology portfolio including models for linking services that are exposed to internal and external application developers.

  • Own execution and drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Development includes network, security, compute, and automation services.

  • Support other technology solutions leaders including peers in accomplishing their tasks as needed.

  • Conceptualize and develop technical resolutions to complex market challenges and customer use cases that require the use of creativity.

You'll need to have....

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, computer science, or mathematics or four or more years of work experience

  • Six or more years relevant work experience in telecommunication architecture, software development, or technical product management

  • Experience shaping product strategy, prioritization, and specification

  • Knowledge of latest trends and best practices in API development required

  • The ability to actively participate in development reviews and basic user story development

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including product management, marketing, finance, legal and technical teams

  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically

  • Ability to work to completion without direction

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills - ability to use data to develop and measure go to market programs.

Even better if you have one or more of the following....

  • MBA / MS in Engineering / Computer Science

  • Experience in Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare and/or Transportation industry

  • Substantial knowledge of Cloud technologies, telecoms and IoT Business Models

  • Deep knowledge of emerging technologies (AI/ML, AR/VR, blockchain, robotics, IoT, etc.)

  • Has broad understanding of products and technologies across Verizon and how they may strategically align with projects

  • Exceptional planning, coordination, and execution skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to negotiate, influence, manage and drive action

  • Proven track record of defining and delivering innovative go-to-market strategies that drive long-term results.

  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Generally considered an industry expert amongst internal and external peer groups.

  • Experience leading or participating in panel discussions

  • Hold patents or has published industry papers/documents/literature
