Provide administrative and technical support to regional distribution leadership in the coordination of environmental, health, and safety programs across the distribution network.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Ensure the sites are adhering to all applicable federal, state and local regulations relative to workplace environmental health & safety (EHS), interface with government officials, as necessary
  • Identify and ensure the execution of a training plan compliance with EPA and DOT, including, but not limited to, New Hire Orientation, Radiation Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, Proper Lifting Techniques, Lock-out/Tag-out, Communication, Stormwater Pollution Prevention and Hazardous Materials Handling.
  • Ensure effective incident investigation and root cause analysis is conducted across the sites with corrective and preventative actions put into place
  • Collect, analyze, and develop action plan relative to safety and health data including safety concerns, near misses, first aids, and recordable accidents.
  • Completing and submitting any governmental reports (i.e., OSHA Log, Tier II)
  • Assist the onsite Safety Committees across the distribution network
  • Assist with emergency preparedness programs (fire drill, tornado, weather, active shooter, etc.)
  • Maintain training records and creating monthly reports along with safety presentations as needed
  • Participate in regional EHS team best practice sharing and training sessions
  • Demonstrate interest in professional development, including working towards Certified Safety Professional certification

Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Ability to influence others, Proven problem-solving skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus on an industrial health or safety discipline preferred
  • 4+ Years of experience with health and safety programs in an industrial setting

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone, 80 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
