About this job

The individual in this role sells and markets products for distribution (B2B) to contractor and industrial businesses at customers' place of business.

The role requires the vigorous pursuit of bid/spec business and will work closely with Engineers, Contractors, Wholesalers, and internal PVI Watts partners.

*The territory for this role consists of NYC-Five Boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and negotiate sales

  • Perform Inside and Outside sales activities to acquire new customers as well as project-based work for current customers

  • Build and maintain customer relationships and be point of contact for current and potential customers

  • Demonstrate products to Engineers, Contractors and Wholesalers by way of samples, catalogues and PDH Approved Lunch and Learns

  • Develop relationships with Facility Managers, Building & Business Owners, and other buyers using a consultative sales approach

  • Prepare marketing and sales reports and implement marketing projects

  • Attend trade shows and industry events as required to represent our products in the marketplace

  • Comfortable facilitating or leading training sessions for groups of 15 to 20 attendees.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, and/or Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of Sales experience

  • Proven ability to develop new business and close sales and proven business development skills and demeanor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear.

  • Lifting (approx. 50 lbs), climbing ladders and stairs; bending or stooping; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operating motor vehicles; and ability to operate power and/or hand tools.

  • Work in both office and manufacturing environment.
