Bachelor's in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Information Technology, or a related field is required and at least zero to one year of related work experience

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening to join the 2024 IT Leadership Program. The position provides an opportunity to work with a collaborative team, driving IT's strategic thrust in enabling GDMS business success through the delivery of leading technology solutions, IT products, and services that support our nation's defense services. The IT Leadership Program strives to develop technical and business leaders in an accelerated learning environment. You will be given technical development opportunities and skills training, rotational work assignments, team interaction and exposure to Senior Management. Participants complete rotational assignments in several IT teams over a 3-year period. This opportunity is created to provide challenging and enriching work assignments, an opportunity to learn and develop skills in different IT technology products and services, and an opportunity for personal development. As you meet and exceed in your technical and business performance you will be eligible and considered for promotions during the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and capture business systems specifications, processes, and other detailed requirements.
  • Translate business requirements to technical specifications and interface with IT staff to design, develop, and maintain solutions.
  • Configure, and administer cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Apply current computer science technologies to the design, development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security.
  • Identify and document product bugs and feature requirements and work with internal support teams, external providers, as well as customers to implement effective solutions.
  • Consult and collaborate with business leaders, users, IT staff, vendors, and other third parties and participate in the application development lifecycle.
  • Support the development and delivery of IT solutions.
  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs.

What you bring to the table:

  • Familiarity and some basic knowledge and understanding of AWS and/or Azure.
  • Familiarity and some basic knowledge and understanding of virtualization technologies: Server, Storage, Networking
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as: C, C Sharp, C++, Perl, PHP, and Python.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with the Lean-Agile mindset.
  • Familiarity and some basic knowledge and understanding of Lean-Agile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban).

Target salary range: USD $72,000.00/Yr. - USD $76,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
