We are currently seeking a DB2 Data Base Administrator to join our team in McLean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Summary:

NTT Data is seeking a Mainframe Developer / Database Analyst responsible for contributing to overall strategic vision and integrating a broad range of solutions in support of client requirements for IT projects. The Mainframe Developer formulates and defines system scope and objectives, develops, or modifies processes to solve complex problems for computer systems and business and electronic interfaces to achieve desired results through the use of innovative technologies; develops and applies advanced engineering and design methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced system requirements, hardware/software interfaces and applications, and solutions.

The Mainframe Developer is also responsible for design, development, engineering, integration, and architecture. As senior staff, this individual also manages, plans, and conducts major phases of significant projects.

Description:

Experience with:

  • Performing daily DB2 administration tasks,including backups,recovery,security updates,and monitoring.
  • Implementing performance optimization techniques to ensure efficient database operations.
  • Managing and maintaining sequential access flat files,ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting database issues,resolving problems efficiently and proactively.
  • Creating and maintaining database objects,such as tables,indexes,and stored procedures.
  • Implementing and enforcing database security best practices,including user access control and data encryption.
  • Performing database migrations and upgrades,ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Documenting all database administration activities and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest DB2 and z/OS technologies and best practices.
  • Work closely with developers and other IT staff to ensure smooth database operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mainframe DBA

Candidates Must, As Per Contract/Client Requirements

  • Have the ability to obtain NACI security clearance (Public Trust)
  • Be a United States citizen or permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of IBM DB2 for z/OS,including administration,performance tuning,and security
  • Strong understanding of sequential access flat files and processing techniques
  • Experience with JCL,REXX,and other mainframe utilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
