Job Summary:

TechnoServe is currently seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist focused on search engine optimization and website authoring for our Digital Engagement team. Reporting to the Senior Digital Engagement Director, the Specialist will be accountable for Organic search website traffic, and Online fundraising revenue and corresponding conversion rates for organic search traffic. Successful candidates will be collaborative, results-focused problem solvers - and bring a combination of skills and competencies including: planning and implementation, reporting, content creation, technical expertise, and project management.

Department Overview:

As part of the Advancement Team, the Digital Marketing Department is a relatively new program and increases in sophistication year over year. We collaborate closely with the communications team to take our blog and content marketing efforts to the next level. Digital Marketing partners with global stakeholders to produce microsites, improve SEO and user experience. High performers who join our team have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of digital tactics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Senior Digital Engagement Director, grow our North American organic website traffic by 15-20% by identifying and implementing new opportunities.
  • Analyze customer and traffic data to find new insights and opportunities for us to grow SEO as a traffic and revenue channel.
  • Use data to connect planning to data analysis and effectively communicate the rationale to stakeholders and peers in the organization about the performance and opportunities that you see.
  • Implement simple website updates using HTML as well as SEO updates. Work with developers to implement more complex technical SEO and new features.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to:
    • Create and produce content that will grow our SEO traffic and convert more website visitors to email sign-ups and online donors. including:
    • Develop a monthly TNS.org home page promotion plan
    • Source photos and graphic assets, including iconography, and
    • Create new graphic assets based on brand guidelines in Canva when needed
  • Website Authoring and Advising:
    • Using WordPress templates created for TechnoServe.org, efficiently make page and post updates as well as create new pages on the site.
    • Provide guidance and troubleshoot with stakeholders across the organization on how to author posts and microsites on TechnoServe.org
    • Serve as an advisor regarding SEO, user experience, as well as authoring using WordPress block editor.
    • Proactively offer solutions for SEO and web authoring needs.
  • Create and manage key project milestones and timelines, delivering on time and budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years relevant experience in content management/SEO; OR Master's Degree + 3 years relevant experience. Comparable experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
  • A proven track record of driving revenue and growing targeted audiences through hands-on SEO.
  • Knowledge and experience with WordPress block editor or similar content management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with the following:
    • WordPress block editor and authoring, Canva, PhotoShop and beginner to intermediate HTML
    • Experience with Conductor or other SEO tools to identify organic search opportunities and develop an SEO plan.
    • GA4 to make data driven content decisions
    • Strong proficiency in Google business tools including Drive, Document, Sheets, and Slides or equivalent tools
    • Experience with HubSpot a plus
    • Project management software experience is a plus
    • CoSchedule experience is a plus
  • Subject matter expertise in User Experience best practices, particularly for ecommerce and online fundraising
  • Experience managing agency relationships, partners and contractors.
  • Experience with TechnoServe or other International Development organizations is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote work team, responding and following through as expected.
