This position will report to and work closely with VP, Assistant General Counsel on commercial and employment litigation matters, providing research and analysis and drafting correspondence related to the same. This position will be responsible for tracking changes and developments in U.S. employment laws, communicating those changes and developments to key stakeholders, and working with those stakeholders to ensure the company's policies and practices are compliant. Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, timely, and clear counsel to key stakeholders on a wide variety of litigation and employment law issues.
  • Track changes and developments in U.S. employment laws, communicating those changes and developments clearly and concisely to key stakeholders, and working with those stakeholders to ensure policies and practices are compliant.
  • Review and audit business policies and practices regularly to identify areas of improvement.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with external parties (e.g., outside counsel, opposing counsel, government agencies, former employees, clients/customers, etc.) regarding legal matters, claims, policies/practices, and/or reporting obligations.
  • Assist and support department attorneys with the following areas of legal practice:
    • Employment Litigation Matters / Claims
    • Business Litigation Matters / Claims
    • International Legal Matters / Claims
    • Governmental Reporting on Employment Law Matters (e.g., Equal Employment Opportunity Reports)
    • Company Policies and Practices

Qualifications:

  • (Required) Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic achievement
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
  • 4 - 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney with basic understanding of employment law
  • In-house experience is a plus
  • Experience working with a remote workforce is a plus

  • Flexible & adaptable, able to change & alter course according to changes in projects or business needs

Position Summary

Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic achievement, and licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
