What you'll be doing...

The Sr. Director position of Operations will lead an organization of high-performing network operations leaders who manage and operate global solutions with high availability (24x7x365) and report to the Associate Vice President. The organization is divided into three primary groups, two Network and Security Operations Centers, field engineering, and desk top operations. Additionally, the position will work closely with the Associate Vice President (AVP) of to implement department strategic direction and serve as the department leader when the AVP is unavailable. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within telecommunications industry, specifically in network related operations, preferably having prior experience as a Director.

Objectives of this role:

  • Overseeing network, security, field, and desk top operations ensuring all business objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Executing tactical objectives associated with the deployment of new products and services across operations.
  • Serving as primary executive representative for when interfacing with corporate operations departments for escalations associated with security and network related outages and issues.
  • Ensuring effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
  • Collaborating with AVP in driving organizational vision and operations strategy.
  • Translating department strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization wide goal setting, and annual operations planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
  • Managing operational capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that achieves department targets for profitability.
  • Monitoring operations performance with tracking software, ensure service level agreements are contract compliant, take corrective measures when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
  • Ensuring that all approved customer and corporate security policies are applied to products, services, and networks designs.

  • Overseeing the development and establishment of processes with Verizon corporate client support teams for unique application and desktop requirements.
  • Implementing business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives as directed by the department AVP.
  • Building and maintaining trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.

What we're looking for...

  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in telecommunications and/or IT operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of network security experience.
  • Understanding of advanced business strategic planning.
  • Strong data analysis and performance metrics skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing complex business solutions from customer requirements.
  • Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation as a condition of employment.
