Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lifesciences, Sales Officer to sell the full suite of Cognizant's services and solutions including Custom Application Development, Engineering & Testing Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Business Consulting Services, etc. into named client organizations. A sales officer will lead, build and manage an established team of Account Executives focused on new logo acquisition. Collaborate withsenior Cognizant leaders to ensure sales and revenue goals are achieved, complete customer negotiations andinfluence executive management as needed. This role requires building high-performance and achievement-oriented teams that have deliveredsuccess. The role holder will actively engage the team to develop plans and resolve issues through collaborative problem solving and will have responsibility for a target industry vertical. Accounts will typically be oriented geographically to location but may include marquee accounts throughout the U.S. Service offerings will include Application Development & Maintenance, Business Process Outsourcing, and Information Technology Outsourcing. The sales officer will work with the BU and SBU Leadership of the industry vertical as well as the integrated service lines. An offshore team will support a targeted marketing into designated accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive growth through hunting new opportunities by setting the sales strategy and taking overall responsibility for developing and nurturing client relationships.
  • Leverage Account Executives to create demand and acquire new clients in line with Cognizant GTM and RADsegmentation.
  • Create the new logo strategy by identifying must have logos, creating large deals pipeline (USD 50M+) and pursue competitive renewals in new accounts.
  • Work with BU and SBU leadership to identify and pursue growth opportunities by aligning sales initiatives with BU strategy and capabilities.
  • Monitor competitor and industry trends to strengthen go-to market position.
  • Understands customer perceptions to anticipate their evolving needs and address them with current or new services / solutions.
  • Influence peers towards investing in the right capabilities and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes aimed at clientsatisfaction.
  • Leverage analyst and partner events to expand market opportunities for demand generation.
  • Lead through influence a senior team of Account Executives collaborating with delivery, integrated service lines, and corporate functions.
  • Optimizing business practices, marketing efforts, salesprocess, product development and pricing strategieswithin the BU

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15+ years of industry experience(Medical Device companies) in a client facing role or account leadership role in the IT professional services ormanagement consulting firm.
  • Experience of leading diverse teams, experience of cultivating and collaborating in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated consecutive quarterly and yearly quota achievement in complex selling environments utilizing a solution selling model.

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Masters)
  • Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead with a collaborative style and demonstrate executive poise and presence, with exceptional communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of business domain, technology, and services solutiondomains.
  • Experience working with Medical Device clients/companies in a service provider organization is highly preferred.

Work Authorization

The annual salary for this position is between $162,500 to $286,600 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
