Role and Responsibilities
End-to-end planning and implementation of digital equity internet service-related infrastructure and deployment projects in the Office of Broadband Programs/Infrastructure Modernization, including business planning, task management, scheduling, resource allocation, execution, quality assurance and quality control, installation scheduling and resource planning, and follow-up activities.
Conducting business process review meetings.
Tracking budgeted expenditures versus actuals
Establishing work breakdown structures.
Writing a requirements definition document.
Perform onsite inspections and project status.
Reporting progress to staff and management.
Establishing a comprehensive change management program for each completed project.
Identifying and implementing appropriate toolsets and processes for business planning and project implementation.
Managing a project workgroup comprised primarily of matrix staff.
Identifying and managing project risks and issues.
Minimum Qualification
Minimum of five (5) years IT & telecom/networking project management experience with significant IT systems, telecom and network projects. The candidate(s) should have demonstrated expertise in the following areas:
Creating and maintaining project schedules and determining project critical paths.
Planning, monitoring, inspection, and quality assurance of the design and installation of conduit/raceways system, telecommunications equipment, low voltage cabling installations to include inside and outside plant, terminations of such cabling, appropriate grounding, and related electrical systems to include Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
Preferred Qualification
BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager® (RTPM ®) certification is preferred.
BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer® (RCDD®) certification preferred.
