Cable Locator/Field Technician
Location: Herndon, VA
Duration: 3 month contract
Description:
- Accountable for accurately identifying, locating, and protecting company fiber assets and preventing costly repair and restoration due to a fiber cut or damage within a dig or excavation site.
The Main Responsibilities
- Locating fiber optic cable to identify if the dig site is clear or if a conflict exists based on locating instructions and in relation to company fiber asset records in company systems.
- Identify and mark all utility locations with paint and capture photos (Prove-IT) for upload to company systems as required.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
- Locating experience of 6 months
- Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Must have a camera phone and a reliable vehicle
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid drivers license required; works in all weather conditions.
