Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator will coordinate all payroll activities, verify hours, and pay rates, recording all financial details in our payroll database, and disbursing paychecks and direct deposits. You will use your expertise in payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely disbursals, accurate recording of key information, and frequent internal audits to ensure reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all payroll processes on a weekly basis.
• Record all payroll information in our secure database.
• Ensure accurate pay rates and timely payments.
• Export payroll from time management system and importing into HRIS.
• Construct and run custom reports.
• Reach out to employees via phone/email to obtain timesheet approvals or answer payroll questions.
• Preparation of all the journal entries associated with the payroll.
• Verifies that all tax reports are filed by the payroll vendor and responds to all related payroll tax issues.
• Reviews leave balances, usage and overtime. Sends reports to management as required.
• Complete Verification of Employment and Wage Garnishment requests.
• Reconciles monthly benefit bills, including pension and union dues.
• Ensure the accuracy of contributions per pay period for employee deductions and elective deferrals/employer matches to 401k.
• Assists with the preparation of the annual audits, and other annual processes.
• Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years+ of payroll processing experience for 500+ employees.
• Knowledge of payroll tax policies (local, state, and federal)
• Experience with payroll systems required. Paycom and UKG payroll system knowledge a plus.
• Prior payroll system implementation, a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Microsoft Office with a strong focus on Excel. Pivot table experience a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Strong, creative problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Capacity to work well both independently and as a team member in a multi-cultural environment.
• High standard of integrity.
• Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
