Direct Hire Junior Controller in Paris, TX
Management and Planning
· Develop, implement and maintain automation and process enhancements for operational systems and procedures.
· Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
· Ensure that the company complies with all local legal and regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting, as well as with guidelines set by the parent company.
· Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Collaborate with senior management to provide strategic financial planning and analysis.
· Manage the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and forecasting.
· Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and address any audit findings.
· Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
· Assist in developing financial forecasts and strategies as well as the development of financial and non-financial performance measures.
· Ensure that recordkeeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
· Assist with the hiring, training, and mentoring of new staff as the Company grows.
· Utilize Microsoft Excel (V Look Ups and Pivot Tables) for financial analysis modeling and KPI monitoring.
· Collaborate with the Canadian Controller to ensure proper consolidation of global results.
· Cross-train with Canadian Controller to act as each other’s deputy during times of absence.
· Search and apply for any local Grants that could aid with expansion efforts.
Transactional and Reporting
· Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions, an updated chart of accounts, and an orderly accounting filing system.
· Process bi-weekly payroll in a timely manner, and in compliance with local legislative requirements.
· Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, and that all reasonable discounts are taken, where cash flow permits.
· Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly and that a direct follow-up is performed on slow paying customers.
· Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Prepare bank reconciliations monthly.
· Perform month end activities, such as determining depreciation, tax provision, accruals, prepaid, and foreign exchange.
· Issue timely and complete internal financial statements and related reports to comply with the parent company’s reporting requirements.
· Analyze variances from budget and report any significant issues to management.
· Lead the inventory count and contribute to process and internal control enhancements, where practical.
· Provide pertinent information to external auditors for the annual audit.
· Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital to optimize financial resources.
Qualifications
· CPA designation preferred
· 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Previous experience in a holding company or multi-subsidiary environment in advantageous.
· Detail oriented with expert organizational skills.
· Skilled communicator (verbal and written) with proven ability to build effective collaborative relationships to advance organizational skills.
· Knowledge of local taxation laws and GAAP.
· Able to travel across North America occasionally.
CPA Certified Preferred
Experience with revenue recognition
Experience with cross country taxes would be a big plus
