We are looking for a Detailer/Checker  to become part of our team! The Detailer Checker reports directly to the Detailer manager. The position requires for someone who can interpret contract drawings, check drawings being releases for fabrication.

Essential Duties:

Knowledge of company's products, shop practices, various manufacturing and quality standards, material specifications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review job folders submitted for detailing for the required paperwork and review assembly list for accuracy and insure that item Call-Outs, Shop drawings are in compliance with customer’s specifications and industries standards.
  • Reviewing and interpreting fabrication, manufacturing, and isometric drawings when required to.
  • Update or change the job status in File-Maker database from Engineering, Detailing and to the Shop daily.
  • Update the Job discrepancy report status in File-maker database as regards to jobs with discrepancies.
  • Upload copies of detailed jobs or drawings with discrepancies on share point (In the Job’s specified files section) for future reference.
  • Interface with various departments for the completion of various jobs like Fabrication Shop, Quality Control, Shipping and get updates on any manufacturing procedural changes for example the introduction of new cutting-edge machines in the shop that might affect detailing procedures and help improve manufacturing lead time.
  • Interface with Project manager, Engineer, Shop operations manager and Shipping manager regarding detailing issues and concerns.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings (from customer drawings) for specific item lay-outs to be used in the Shop as auxiliary sheet for clarity purposes.
  • Review and add any necessary information or comments after consultation with the assigned Engineer with regards to Auxiliary sheets, Buyout information, Patterns for burning and any other details that might be required for manufacturing of these products while following customer's drawings and specifications.
  • Review Job revisions with the concerned Project Manager, Project Engineer and Takeoff Engineer to avoid oversight or future mistakes.
  • Be familiar with different materials properties, structural steel members and required finishes or coating specifications.
  • A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software.
  • Be able to attend in house company Kick-off meetings regarding projects when required to.

Other Job Functions:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Observe and follow companies safety policies
  • Be familiar with J.Q. (Attend Job Quote Training )

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mechanical, Industrial and Civil Engineering study fields
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with general Shop practices
