Job Description
Oakland School, a co-educational day school located on 450 acres in Troy, VA, is looking for teachers for our summer session. Potential applicants would need to be available from Monday, June 17 to Monday, July 29 from 8:20 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 will be in-service days.
Responsibilities:
Teach small, in-person Reading, Phonics, Math, or Writing classes following a well-established program working with students with learning differences or who need reinforcement/catch-up in the subject
One-on-one reading instruction (Reading teachers)
Ensure the safety and supervision of students, children between the ages of 7 and 15
Ensure the structure of the camp academics and provide mindful guidance to students
Qualifications:
Virginia Teaching License in Special Education (Learning Disabilities), Elementary Education, or Reading, Math or English
Great organizational and written language skills
Flexible and a team player
Enjoy working with school-aged children
Pay: $5,200 salary for six-week program
