Plant Manager Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and confident fabrication plant manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on the plant floor while increasing production. You will manage scheduling, oversee daily operating reports, and increase production by providing leadership and developing strategic plans. You should be a strong leader with an analytical mind and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Plant Manager Duties and Responsibilities

· Overseeing all the operational activities of the fabrication plant.

· Monitor all operations and processes

· Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety regulations

· Ensure all compliance needs are met

· Manage scheduling for a fully operational team

· Oversee daily floor operations of up to 60 employees

· Develop strategies to increase productivity and production

· Oversee all shipments and storage operations

· Optimize productive time for employees by eliminating unnecessary processes

· Practice conflict resolution among departments and employees

· Maintain inventory levels and controlling the flow of product.

· Hire and train new employees

· Implementing employee disciplinary reports and terminations

· Preparing production and performance reports for senior management.

· Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment

· Ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, local and state health and safety regulations are met

Plant Manager Requirements and Qualifications

· High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business management, business, or related field preferred; Master's in business administration or management a plus

· 3 years' previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position

· Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel) a plus.

· Strong management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams

· Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

· Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills

· Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead

· Able to physically stand 5 to 6 hours per day, bend, squat and lift up to 30 pounds

· Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

· Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

· Excellent conflict-resolution and decision-making abilities

Objectives of this Role

· Ideate and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility

· Continuously improve the quality of products to meet the set standards and customers’ requirements.

· Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment

· Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements

· Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality

· Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments

· Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities and customer requirements
