Hard Truth Tours and Tastings is looking to hire a seasonal Whiskey Guide!

Summary:

Calling all whisky enthusiasts, Hard Truth Distilling Co. is looking for seasonal whiskey guides. As a whiskey guide you will be an expert in whiskey and craft spirits! Join our team as we pioneer the Indiana whiskey renaissance. This is an excellent opportunity to gain industry recognition as a whiskey expert. Our Sweet Mash Rye was called the single best whiskey from a new distillery by world renowned whiskey critic and author Fred Minnick. Our whiskies have won prestigious medals including from the ASCOT award and the San Francisco International Spirits Competition. As a whiskey guide, you will become an expert in American rye and bourbon whiskies, lead guided tastings, and educate guests on the whiskey production process.

This position is mostly a weekend position with opportunities to lead some weekday experiences.

Responsibilities:

Greeting and Hospitality:

• Welcome and engage with guests, giving them your full attention.

• Bartend and mix drinks, providing insights into our craft and mixology.

• Educate guests about our distillery's history and the art of distillation.

  • Efficiently take customer orders, enter them into the POS system.

  • Handle transactions involving cash and credit cards.

  • Execute sales for drinks, experiences, and merchandise.

  • Manage phone inquiries, schedule tours, and reschedule when necessary.

• Guided Tours and Experiences:

  • Conduct engaging distillery tours, sharing knowledge about the distillation process.

  • Lead ATV tours in the surrounding woods.

  • Facilitate mixology classes.

  • Lead guided tastings of our craft whiskies and spirits.

• 
  

• Opening and Closing:

  • Assist in the opening and closing procedures, including setup and garnish preparation.

  • Prepare the welcome center for tours and events.

  • Assist in post-event cleanup and breakdown.

• Adaptable Support:

  • Be ready to assist with various tasks as needed, contributing to a dynamic work environment.

Requirements:

• Age: Must be 21 years old or older.

• Must have or obtain an Alcohol serving license from the State of Indiana.

• Physical Ability: Able to kneel, bend, squat, and lift throughout your shift.

• Communication Skills: Demonstrate clear and professional communication with customers, supervisors, and colleagues.

• Must have a strong interest in whiskey and craft spirits with willingness to become an expert.

Salary:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour +tips
