Job Description
FTS is seeking a Housekeeper for Dauphin Island.
We are looking for a professional Housekeeper able to attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation.
Essential Job Duties are but not limited to:
● Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing, stripping, and waxing floors.
● Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
● Maintain a facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
● Requires working in damp, dusty, and dirty areas. Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required. (Seldom)
● Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
● Plan a work schedule for major tasks.
● Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
● Empty trash containers daily.
● Wet mop floors in all residential areas and bathrooms. Damp mops all areas as needed.
● Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily
● Clean all air vents.
● Report any needed repairs immediately to the supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts or screws, beds need repair, etc.)
● Completely strip and recoat all floor areas when necessary and as scheduled.
● Check the entire area for spills, water, etc. periodically.
● Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
● Ensure all offices, dormitories, houses, classrooms, and general facilities are cared for and inspected according to standards.
● Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies.
● Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
● Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
● Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
● Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
● May be asked to work outside of the assigned schedule for necessary job duties.
● Participate in our annual Discovery Day (held annually on a Saturday in April)

Requirements:
Education:
● High School Diploma/GED preferred.
● Ability to read and write.
Experience:
● Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper
● Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
● Computer skills are a must for timekeeping purposes.
● Timekeeping equipment (Facial recognition time keeping)
● First Aid/CPR preferred, but not required.
Physical Abilities:
● Requires occasional, lifting, caring, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
● Moderate dexterity in operation machinery, tools, or office equipment
● Standing or walking some of the time, reaching overhead
● Working with hands in hot water and chemicals
● May involve exposure to extreme heat and cold.
● Must be able to properly lift heavy items from a stooping position, with help.
● Exposed to bright/dim lights.
● Requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking abilities, color perception, depth perception and texture perception.

● Valid State Driver’s license
