To develop and implement improvements to product quality and quality systems. Assist in the Quality responsibilities required for production of bars, ingots and pigs. Ensure all finished Products manufactured by our plant meet company requirements for quality. Reporting any substandard production immediately to the Quality Manager, Plant Manager, or Process Engineer.

Requirements:

Develop & improve quality control standards.

Maintain and improve product quality.

Develop quality control objectives and quality control plans.

Diagnosis of quality problems and implement programs to improve product quality.

Assist in the resolution of quality related problems.

Gather data of safety and environmental situations and address as needed.

Assist production as required.

Observe pouring operation for proper technique by operators to provide quality products.

Audit the process preparation of bars, ingots and pigs for shipment to customer.

Create and audit Production Routers when needed.

Audit mix in charge staging area to ensure the proper materials were pulled per the Melt Packet.

Verify completion of alloy checks, tagged identification, sample ID and grinding of shot before final packing.

Sign, date and attach green inspection labels to shipments for final approval.

Examine and report to Quality and / or Plant Manager any quality issues brought to the Technicians attention by plant personnel.

Set up and run Quality improvement trials collecting results.

Any other duties as deemed necessary by Quality Manager.

Maintain Quality System as it applies to company.

Oversee Quality System meetings and report minutes as required.

Train personnel on Quality System and how it applies to their position.

Ensure compliance of the Quality System to AS9100, ISO 9001 and Nadcap Materials Testing.

Assist Quality Manager in daily quality evaluation

Perform internal AS9100 & ISO 9001 internal process audits on Quality Management System.


Post secondary education (University/College) with emphasis in Engineering, Physics, Quality and Mathematics. Degreed Engineer/Metallurgist or equivalency.
