Oertel Metalworks is currently seeking a Tradesman, also known as a Pre-Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker based out of Davenport, Iowa.

The Tradesman is responsible for assisting the apprentices or journeymen with various steps in the fabrication process and helping to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shop. This could include operating a fork truck, moving materials, setting up or operating various equipment, assisting with shipping/receiving & assembly, or other shop tasks. No experience is necessary and on-the-job training will be provided.

What makes you successful in this position:

• A current, valid drivers license
• An interest in welding, fabrication, assembly, or CNC machining
• Previous work experience working with your hands and physical labor
• Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and think of yourself as mechanically inclined

This position works Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm each day, with the option for overtime. Base pay starts at $18.00/hour.
