PARTS MANAGER

Reports to the Director of Service and Parts


The Parts Manager’s role is comprised of 3 main functions:  Leading Our Team, Serving Our Customer and Managing Financial Results. Each of these functions require different skills and time spent in each area but are equally important parts of being on the Bortnick Team.


Leading the Team:  

  • Sets the standard for keeping the Parts area clean and orderly.
  • Sets operating standards for the Parts Department.
  • Works in coordination with Service, Office, Sales and Management Departments.
  • Leads, trains, coaches and develops Team Members to optimize performance.
  • Solicits feedback from team and work to implement ideas and/or resolve Team Member challenges.
  • Completes Individual Plan of Development.
  • Partners with Leadership Team in selection process and onboarding of new Parts Team Members.
  • Trains and coaches team members to optimize the defined best practices.
  • Evaluates Team Member performance on an ongoing basis as well as using annual Performance Reviews.
  • Schedules and monitors required training for Parts Department Team Members.
  • Promotes a respectful and cooperative relationship with all other departments to ensure stability and growth of Bortnick business.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Serving our Customers:

  • Sets the standard to establish credibility & collaboration with Service Department.
  • Establishes and maintains good relationships with customers to exceed their expectations.
  • Ensures all department customer communication is handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Sets and maintains proper parts inventory levels, using Proper Posting to Measure True Turns.
  • Creates and maintains best practices for special ordered parts.
  • Monitors the parts inventory and proactively anticipates parts needs based on future promotions, new model years, trends and suggested stock orders.


Managing Financial Results:

  • Completes Proper Inventory Postings to Measure True Turns
  • Verifies that inventory is checked in according to best practices 
  • Utilizes all available system reports to appropriately manage inventory levels
  • Partners with management to evaluate department’s financial results in order to ensure continuous improvement
  • Meets or exceeds set performance goals.
