Job Description

The Senior Director of Marketing is responsible for the overall success, direction, administration, and coordination of all Marketing activities. This includes property-wide planning, developing, coordinating and implementation of marketing strategies and activities. Ultimately, the Senior Director of Marketing is responsible for the Marketing, Promotions, Advertising and Media Buying, Image Continuity, Player Development, Entertainment and Special Events, Resort Synergy Efforts and Public Relations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates the development of marketing operating plans and budgets with the AGM and GM and ensures that operations are maintained within budgetary constraints. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data, to determine departmental progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Implements & manages an effective marketing plan for the property, working with the AGM to determine current & future objectives.
  • Produces and oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all marketing activities, including database marketing, resort marketing, player development, entertainment events, advertising, and promotions.
  • Responsible for development and execution of all internal and external marketing efforts.
  • Coordinates with all property managers and directors to successfully execute marketing programs and promotions.
  • Prepares and presents detailed marketing reports, as needed.
  • Develops and implements special property events and programs. Develops proposals and detailed outlines for special events and coordinates all event logistics to ensure outstanding promotion execution.
  • Administers all programs, policies, and procedures for the Marketing Department.
  • Responsible for handling the management, publicity of all sponsorships to achieve a favorable return on investment.
  • Participates in community programs to develop opportunities to promote a positive image for the company within the community.
  • Negotiates effective advertising media schedules with radio, television, newspaper, magazine, direct mail, digital, social and outdoor vendors in compliance with established Marketing Plan guidelines. Recommends, plan, and monitors allocation of advertising media and production budgets in compliance with established marketing department guidelines, and to ensure the achievement of property plan objectives.
  • Prioritizes in-house and outside agency-related projects through effective allocation of resources; oversees and monitors workflow, department and agency schedules, and communication with internal requesting departments to ensure fulfillment of media and production deadlines in a timely, quality and cost- effective manner.
  • Ensures thorough, constant, and complete communication to and from all other management team members so that knowledge may be shared fully.
  • Occasionally performs duties of subordinates and other duties as needed.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field from a four-year college or university, and five years’ experience working in marketing, advertising, and/or promotions fields, with three years in a director or managerial position in casino marketing required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, analytical and creative thinking skills, and superb communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to serve as a leader while fostering teamwork, team member morale, motivation, and open communication.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, tribal, and state laws and regulations pertaining to gaming and media utilization.
  • Experience with and knowledge of developing tactical and strategic market plans and operating budgets.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
