Job Description

  • Troubleshooting, modification implementation, repair and inspection on various engineering field (mechanical, electrical, TCMS features…)
  • Support engineering department with on field deployment.
  • Collect and analyze data from different systems.
  • Change request / modification validation.
  • Soft skills for interface with internal customer like engineering department. Interface with customers, consultants, vendors and installation contractors, as needed.
  • Provide field support as required for activities such as testing and commissioning and internal tests.
  • Understand the technical issues for each fleet and sub-systems within the platforms under Alstom scope and manage their resolution.
  • Perform system test activities such as breakdown tests, operational, main line test and system level tests.  
  • Conduct tests in compliance with company standards, project requirements, relevant test procedures, safety standards.
  • Use of test fixtures and follow functional test procedures.
  • Identify operational and technical problems and assist in practical solutions and improvements to system design.
  • Accurately complete test documentation, data sheets, marking plans, expense reports, daily logs, and lost time and discrepancy reports.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience testing Signaling, Train Control Systems or related Rolling Stock product and system interfaces.
  • Previous hands-on experience with test equipment (VOMs, DMMs, voltage meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital multimeters, and signal generators).
  • Working knowledge of Rolling Stock products.
  • · Working knowledge of and system interfaces
  • Proven railway safety awareness.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills for problem identification and resolution.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

  • Hiring for the following locations: Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Washington DC, New Castle, DE; and Philadelphia, PA.

  • Assignments often require work to be performed at odd hours and/or extended shifts. Work schedules and hours change often. Working holidays and weekends is not uncommon.
