Job Summary

 

PNE Construction (PNEC) – a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking a Construction Superintendent who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service and skills to our company and clients.

 

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of four divisions include Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC has offices in multiple states.

 

PNE Construction is a full-service design-build contractor that has the capability to design and build many projects. Our experience starts with great employee knowledge and years of experience in the field. Each project is treated with care and is completed by utilizing the company's motto, All About Solutions.

 

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing the construction site workers including subcontractors to ensure full compliance of all plans, legality, and safety procedures while adhering to a strict timeline and budget. This position has many facets; therefore, this role must be someone who is highly organized and accountable.

 

Education and Experience Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • At least four years of experience in building trade required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Construction Superintendent possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

 

  • Interview and hire site workers, approves timecards and PTO request, creates work schedules and assignments.
  • Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules, addressing any safety violations or other deficiencies.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Project to obtain desired construction results.
  • Develops a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of an assigned project; continuously monitoring budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur. Maintaining records related to costs and inventory.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Collaborates with other staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for material and labor.
  • Coordinates and schedules the work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers; communicating to and project foreperson to deliver instructions and assignments as appropriate.
  • Regularly inspect work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
  • Collaborates with architect, engineers, attorneys, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and construction plans are met.
  • Obtain required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

 

  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Operate office and construction equipment.
  • Move objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Access and navigate all areas of a construction site.
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions.
