Job Summary:

The Hospitality Manager reports to the Campus Vice President of Dining and is responsible for developing and executing hospitality results to exceed our resident's expectations. The Hospitality Manager oversees and manages all retail location and dining rooms on campus to ensure we are delivering a best in class dining program that meets our presentation standards. The Hospitality Manager applies front of house techniques to food preparation and service standards, and manages the final presentation of our residents dining experience either in our dining room or one of our quick service restaurants. In addition, the Hospitality Manager will be responsible for resident relationship management, actively participants in the campus dining committee and oversees and developing an hourly front of the house staff.

Hospitality Manager Essential Functions

Customer Service:

  • Assist with menu writing and formatting of resident facing materials, highlighting current food trends
  • Responsible delivering a best in class hospital experience to all residents that dine with us on campus
  • Responsible for all aspects front of the house operations, including proper service techniques and dining room management
  • Oversight of all aspects of catering operations, and resident meal tracking software

Operations:

  • Responsible for maintaining up to date resident profiles in meal tracking software
  • Ensures retail operations are fully stocked and crisp, completes daily cash management and revenue reporting statistics
  • Must be able to lift items up to 40 pounds
  • Determine front of the house schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services, including all essential functions of payroll processing
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food presentation practices, sanitation, uniform guidelines and hospitality standards are maintained
  • Manage resident relationships and is an active participant in the resident dining committee
  • Rounds in all retail operations and dining rooms daily to ensure we are exceeding our resident's expectation and resolve any concerns

Financial:

  • Manage department inventory for china, glass, silver and catering supplies
  • Analyze price to cost ratio for al a carte offering in quick service retail outlets
  • Responsible for inventory management
  • Submit revenue financial reporting and resident meal counts to Campus Vice President daily

People:

  • Responsible for people management to include, but not limited to, recruitment, hiring, termination, review process, of unit staff
  • Instruct, train and supervise waitstaff, cashiers, greeter, or other workers support the retail and front of the house operations
  • Provide excellent customer service to include being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking residents and customers


Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in food service management specifically corporate dining

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Culinary School certificate or degree
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Required Eligibility Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Certification
  • Allergen Awareness Certification
