Simple Technology Solutions is looking for a Systems Platform Engineer to add to our team. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Quick Position Overview:

- Minimum of 5 years' position related experience is required
- Required Certification - MCSE
The Role:
We are looking for a Systems Platform Engineer to work closely with the customer leadership team to achieve business objectives. The Systems Platform Engineer will work within a team of engineers in an agile environment. Aside from technical qualifications, application should have effective communication skills, both written and verbal. The applicant must have extensive network engineering, design, implementation, optimization and maintenance experience. A passion for innovation, performance, strong desire for quality conformance, and attention to detail are prerequisites for this position.
The Systems Platform Engineer at STS will:
- Build software and systems to manage infrastructure, platforms, and applications to enable the continuous integration and continuous deployment of software products.
- Applying best practices for infrastructure and platform provisioning, configuration, management, and automated software deployments using DevSecOps pipeline technologies.
- Leverage tools like JIRA and Confluence to track development activities, control source code, and author documentation.
- Leverage open-source and fit-for-purpose tools to manage private, hybrid, and public cloud infrastructures and platforms via code, designing reusable infrastructure and platform components for scalable, highly-available, secure architectures for applications.
Education and Experience:
Required
- Bachelor's degree
- US Citizenship
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience with monitoring performance and throughput, and setting baselines for acceptable performances standards while teams develop new solutions.
- Experience working in public and private clouds.
- Ability and readiness to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills required.
- Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with major cloud providers preferred.
- Possess superior technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.
- Certification: MCSE.
- Must be able to work the hours of 8am-5pm Eastern Time regardless of your home location
Desired Skills
- Experience working at a DHS federal agency program.
- Evaluate and apply best practices to facilitate continuous improvement that can be applied across teams.
- Support the development and deployment of prototypes and solutions within Commercial Cloud Solutions leveraging Infrastructure platform services.
- Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity issues for LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS and Firewall.
- Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
