POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data Processing Clerk at Allstate Floral will quickly and accurately transfer data from a variety of sources, including written and recorded reports. You must be able to correct existing data, update and develop new and existing databases, and be comfortable working independently with large amounts of numerical and written data.

REPORTS TO:              Data Processing Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION:       Non-exempt
STATUS:                       Full-Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Process sales orders through fax in, website or email.
  2. Process requests from outside sales representatives and internal staff which include sales order update, customer information update, create excel reports, report of any discrepancy of sales orders or pricing and etc.
  3. Process new customer accounts and update related information.
  4. Process EDI related document including sales orders, invoices, ASN and alert any discrepancy to immediate supervisor.
  5. Attend trade shows and process show orders and data record related changes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. When expected to travel to trade shows, the environment becomes the showroom.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires: standing and sitting at will, walking, and bending as necessary; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 35 pounds regularly without assistance and over 35 pounds occasionally with assistance; reaching overhead, at, or below shoulders; gross manipulation with hands and fine manipulation with fingers.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position in our Cerritos, California, headquarters. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If requested to travel to trade shows, the expected days and hours of work will change accordingly.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily locally during the business day.  Domestic travel is required to our showrooms for trade shows and set-ups, 4 to 6 times a year, for multiples days at a time. Destinations include Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, High Point, NC, and/or Las Vegas, NV.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School Diploma; college degree preferred in business, administration, or related field
  2. One+ years previous experience in data entry or equivalent experience in a related field
  3. Strong attention to detail
  4. Able to quickly and accurately type and enter data; knowledge of touch-typing system preferred
  5. In-depth understanding of databases
  6. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly of Excel spreadsheets
  7. Must be able to multitask.
  8. Able to travel for trade shows.
  9. Great attention to detail, neat and organized and excellent communication skills.
  10. Strong alpha-numeric data entry skill and fast typing with minimum 35 words per minute.
  11. Ability to work effectively under supervision and follow specific guidelines.
  12. Solid problem-solving skills.

SALARY RANGE
