Job Details Job Location Port Townsend Paper - Port Townsend, WA Position Type Full Time Description The Position We currently have an opening for a Logistics Coordinator to serve as our first point of contact for customers, as well as oversee order fulfillment from receipt of purchase order to delivery. This role will be responsible for collecting and entering data into databases, processing orders and reporting requests, expediting outbound and inbound shipments, and managing finished goods inventories through maximization of shipments while maintaining our exceptional service levels. This role reports directly to the Logistics Services Manager . We use a blend of virgin and recycled fibers (Kraft and OCC pulp) to produce Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, medium, and market pulp. Job Responsibilities Provides excellent customer service through timely and accurate customer communications via email and telephone. Processes domestic orders & revisions according to established department policies and procedures. Responsible for processing export shipments; proper order preparation and entry, booking requests, processing Letters of Credit, understanding of Incoterms, and approving documentation. Works effectively to solve complex ordering and scheduling of customer products to meet demands and delivery dates. Plans inbound shipments of recycling and outbound shipments of finished goods to maximize invoicing while minimizing freight costs and optimizing on-time performance metrics. Responsible for live appointment vs. pool daily load planning, prepares dock schedules, and coordinates shipment schedule with the Production Planner, Gatehouse, Contractor/Carriers, and Shipping Supervisor. Ensures carriers are meeting expectations set by management and follow correct procedures regarding efficiency and record keeping in our TMS (Princeton TMX) software. Manages miscellaneous tasks such as quality complaints, sample requests, credit/debit items, freight claims, freight reconciliation, spot rate negotiation, etc. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities, addresses gaps in current processes, and suggests optimized ways of working to improve customer satisfaction and the team's efficiency. Actively participates in Health & Safety, including upholding safety policies and procedures. Occasional vacation relief duties. With additional training in and outside of the department. Other duties as assigned. Accountability and Authority Freight Spend and Inventory Implementation of carrier commitments and rate agreements with the Logistics Services Manager. Spot quotes on one-time customer orders or overflow loads above carrier commitments and committed carriers' capacity with established carriers. Communicate with the logistics team on the most efficient production schedule for minimal freight spending and maximum product delivery. Responsible for reviewing inventory trends and adhering to FIFO (first in first out) methods. Coordinate with the sales team and Production Planner to achieve maximum trim efficiency by balancing available purchase orders against historical and current data. Accessorial review and authorization. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision. Work Schedule, and Work Environment This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Normal office hours, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. Employment Terms Full-time, Exempt position Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 DOE. Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance. 2 weeks paid vacation or more depending on position. Full-time employees receive 160 hours of sick leave upon hire and then earn eight hours of sick leave per month. 9 paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year. Retirement plan.
