Marathon TS is seeking a Engineering & Operations Manager to support a federal client in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities :
Participate in an "escalation manager capacity for the on-call/after-hours staff and know when and where to escalate accordingly
Identify strengths and weaknesses of the team members and work with each one on improvement areas while offering continual support to each engineers' personal and professional development goals
Properly oversee activities on the Operations and Engineering teams and be able to keep the projects moving along while maintaining a strict focus on operational continuity
Provide remote and on-site support until the incidents are resolved
Provide a root cause and mitigation analysis post-incident within 24 hours
Configure and manage Group Policy including: GPO settings, application to OUs, and deployment
Perform SQL Database maintenance, upgrades, configuration, and system performance tuning
Assist in Datacenter consolidation projects and integrations including Hyper-V with ESXi
Provide support for creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting VMware ThinApps, Microsoft Remote Applications, and Microsoft APP-V applications
Adhere to all established change management processes, contribute to documentation repository.
Engage third-party vendors to provide resolution management, including remote or on-site support, replacement components, etc.
Deploy and support customer facing peripheral device infrastructure, including, but not limited to: Zero/Thin Client Management
Support/troubleshoot/update/monitor the health of the ADFS and Web Proxy servers that provide authentication for Office 365, and the ADFS server that provide authentication to enterprise applications
Support/troubleshoot access issues to the Office365 infrastructure and any security or message delivery failures

Qualifications:
Required :
A Bachelor's degree in an IT or related field
1 of the following certifications: MCSE/M365X, VCP, CCNP, RHCE, F5TS
At least 5 years of experience managing a team of engineers on multiple projects and concurrent operational support. g. able to know teams' skillsets, make project & resource shifts, adjust project aspects to meet delivery deadlines, communicate issues and progress with the government client, make sound technical decisions alongside the Engineering & Operations leads and the Program Manager that will ensure programmatic success at the highest level of engineering support.
10+ years of relevant experience in a Systems Engineer role or similar capacity. g. implementing and troubleshooting IT systems, hardware & software, Systems Design, etc.
Strong experience implementing and troubleshooting a Virtualized Windows server environment including: Active Directory, Group Policy, SQL, DNS, DHCP, and PKI
Strongly preferred :
Strong demonstrable experience with any F5 BIG-IP product or any F5 certification
(e.g. experience with or certified in: LTM, GTM, APM, etc.)
Strong engineering-level experience with: VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon VDI, OS patching using MECM, Device alerting and monitoring using Nagios
Any of the following certifications: F5, CCNP, VCP, SCCM, SQL Server, ITIL V3, SNIA, MCEM, LPIC, Linux+, Red Hat
Experience working engineering projects during a data center consolidation, particularly V2V migrations from Hyper-V to ESXi
Experience managing large infrastructure migration projects
