Controller

Specialty Fastener Manufacturer (U.S. based) is seeking a driven Controller to manage the accounting function. In this highly visible role, the Controller will partner with the CEO and Accounting Manager to lead projects specific to accounting and finance, prepare monthly financial reports and analyze performance, and streamline the month/year end close process. This is a full time, direct hire position in south Dayton, offering 100% EMPLOYER PAID premiums for medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and qualifying dependents! The Controller should be available to work an on-site schedule, 8am-5pm.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly financial statements.
* Review and approve payroll prepared by outside processor.
* Prepare daily cash reporting dashboard.
* Record periodic journal entries and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Prepare monthly sales commissions and analysis reports.
* Document business processes and identify ways to improve efficiency and spending.
* Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
* Analyze and summarize financial information.
* Coordinate with external accountants for annual review services.
* Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

Experience:
* Proven experience as an accountant in a manufacturing company
* Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
* Experience with the Microsoft Office platform
* Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (ex: Infor Syteline)
* BS degree in Accounting or Finance
* Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred
* Advanced MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables
* Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
