LMI is seeking a skilled Strategic Communication and Event Specialist at our Tysons, VA, in support of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO). Ideal candidate can understand how functional requirements relate to technical capabilities and associated programmatic requirements. The successful candidate will be a professional, highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. The Workforce Consultantis responsible for providing solutions and integration support across all areas of OEEO support.

Responsibilities
    Support the development, execution, and assessment, including analysis of audience impact, of communication plans, written deliverables, and campaigns aligned with program, FDA broader strategies.
  • Plan, develop, and implement communications for program leaders to advance greater understanding and support for the mission.
  • Strong speech writing and communication skills to prepare messages for senior leadership (GS-14 - SES), PowerPoint briefings and talking points, scripts for events, advertisement of training, communications to invite guest speakers and trainers. etc.
  • Experienced with guest speaker event planning and coordination.
  • Experienced with planning and executing training communications and registration process.
  • Experience with strategic communications for rollout of major Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)-related or other initiatives across an organization.
  • Understanding of DEIA is desired. Most of the communications (email, presentations, talking points, scripts, etc.) are coming from the Director of OEEO and Diversity Management so they should be unbiased and inclusive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the related area.
  • Experience overseeing, developing, and managing tasks related to communication, guest presenter events, etc.
  • Ability to develop a variety of high-quality written and presentation-based work products and deliverables.
  • Comfortable "learning as you go" and the ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills related to the requirements above.
  • SharePoint development experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of DEIA and Equal Employment Opportunity is desired but not required.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Working knowledge of remote/virtual meeting environments such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
