Job Description:

TheRegional Project Engineer will be a critical part of theterminal operations team, reporting to the Vice President of Terminal Operations. This position will complete assigned construction and maintenance projects at various Global Partners terminals. Projects will include a wide range of engineering disciplines and require a detailed knowledge of petroleum terminal operations and process flow. Typical projects would include piping and pump upgrades, storage tank repairs, containment and drainage improvements, and improvements to truck loading facilities. You will work in closely with the Terminal Managers and terminal staff to ensure the least disruption to operations during a construction project. The engineer must also develop, coordinate, and control contractors, vendors and outside consultants.

This position requires day and overnight travel to facilities in the Northeast and Southeast United States. Schedule varies but expect travel on average 2-3 days a week.

  • Assist in developing recommended project pipeline
  • Develop assigned projects to include final scope, economics, conceptual design, and preparation of appropriation request.
  • Design and construct approved projects to include bid preparation, equipment selection, construction oversight, coordination with operating facilities, and cost control.
  • Assist terminal management in evaluation of facility equipment and processes. Recommend and provide training assistance for improving process efficiency and preventative maintenance.
  • Improve job effectiveness through continuing education, industry certifications, and cross training in additional engineering disciplines. Participate in project peer reviews with other engineers and management.
  • Coordinate with internal Departments (Environmental, Safety, etc) and Government agencies with regards to new or changing regulations and practices that may affect terminal facility design and operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in comparable role and industry.
  • Preferred 3-5 years' experience in petroleum storage and distribution terminal engineering or construction management.
  • Have a strong work ethic,
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Desire to succeed and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Education Requirement

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Discipline or Construction Management required.
  • Advanced Engineering degree or certification and experience in construction management preferred.
