What You'll Do in This Position

Purpose of Position:
Answer and address Payroll Operations calls to resolve problems.
Review Time and Accounting Collection System (TACS) entries for accuracy against pay procedures.
Respond to Legal Requests for information.
Process timekeeping reports to evaluate any pay changes necessary.
Responsible for doing peer reviews during payroll processing related to payroll entries.
Transmits payment information to the bank and cash management team.
Responsible for additional payroll duties as requested by management.

Perform administrative tasks in direct support of the M&O senior vice presidents or work groups, work from standard and special office procedures.

Major Responsibilities:
Perform office management functions to directly support M&O senior vice presidents or work groups as well as perform duties for a specific work group such as document control or records management. Duties may include:
* Work from standard and special office procedure, administrative training, job knowledge with minimal management direction
* Perform office management functions such as maintain the managers'/workgroup/s calendars, schedule appointments, and make travel arrangements (e.g., ground, air, and hotel, etc.)
* Answer, screen, route, redirect, as well as make local/long distance, and international telephone calls. Receive, greet, escort, and/or direct visitors
* Respond to and answer questions and inquiries
* Assist in the resolution of managerial and departmental problems
* Assist less experienced employees and advise on appropriate procedures and standards
* Receive, open, sort, and distribute mail
* Establish and maintain an up-to-date filing system
* Maintain confidentiality of acquired information
* Establish and maintain good relations with internal and external contacts/customers
* Transcribe, compile/arrange a variety of interoffice memoranda, letters, reports and other classified or unclassified correspondence.
* Receive, document, post and record classified or unclassified information
* Assure subordinate office reports and correspondence are correct and conform to appropriate site procedures and standards
* Establish and maintain an accurate and up-to-date office filing system for the timely retrieval of classified or unclassified information as requested or required
* Receive, open, sort and distribute mail to manager and others
* Read and abstract from letters, reports, and other correspondence relevant information for managers use. Draft a proposed response or gather backup information to be used or suggest a course of administrative action.
* Operate or use related office equipment and supplies
* Work from standard and special office procedures, training, and job knowledge with minimal management direction

Perform administrative functions such as:
* general or specialized typing/indexing
* Receive, sort, file, check, correct, stamp and log a wide variety of classified or unclassified documents such as memoranda, letters, computer runs, control and transfer sheets, forms, documents, drawings etc.
* Establish and maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper
* Operate computer using various software programs to research, compile, calculate, input, update or change data and manipulate software to achieve and verify desired results
* Compose, produce, and type a variety of forms, letters, reports, memoranda, and related correspondence as directed.
* Develop and update desktop procedures as directed
* Perform inventory and/or bookkeeping functions as required
* Receive, open, sort and distribute mail within the immediate office area or work group including site classified mail
* Establish and maintain logs and files of activities, duplicate and file information and distribute to appropriate areas
* Check, edit and assign codes to a variety of documents as required to ensure standards are maintained
* Receive documents or record material from other departments or groups in the form of microfiche, fax, reports, manuals, etc. Maintain an up-to-date file on all data received, ensuring that proper records and associated metadata are kept on all information received
* Answer telephone, take messages, relay or record information received, and distribute or file information to appropriate file or party and answer basic inquiries
* Interface with a variety of personnel throughout the organizations and provide and receive information
* Operate or use general office equipment including various software programs, fax machines, microfilm readers, copiers, large and small format scanner/printers, telephone equipment, and other related office equipment and supplies

Assignments with the primary responsibility of reproduction tasks must have the ability to:
* evaluate jobs and workloads to determine the most productive solution
* Use knowledge of duplicating facility, printing plant and commercial capabilities to balance competing jobs, workload, and policy requirements
* Check work and processes to maintain quality and production standards
* Ensure corrective action is taken to resolve problems
* Interface with customers, technical personnel, and management to assist in accomplishing projects, tasks, and jobs
* Review, advise and accept work requests from customers
* Assist supply personnel in evaluating and obtaining appropriate materials
* Research and recommend new materials and equipment while maintaining knowledge of latest available equipment and materials
* Develop charge back costs for various products
* Perform property management functions and supply accountability tasks
* Conduct inventories and maintain costs registers. Excess and requisition equipment
* Maintain records on all portable equipment and serve as assistant to field property administrator
* Maintain MSDS ledger and assist with environmental related issues
* Assist with training of less experienced personnel
* Develop and update desktop guides

Utilizing software to conduct print orders to various approved GPO (Government Printing Office) vendors. Filling requests for printing orders such as business cards, posters, pamphlets, reports, documents, labels etc. Conducting quality checks on products. Assist lead with reconciliation reports. Maintain the MSDS ledger and assist with environmental related issues.

Other duties as assigned by management. Normal work location for this position is an office building but may be assigned to work in a process facility and could be assigned to a shift schedule. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. May require and L or Q clearance.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential

Qualifications We Desire

Associates or Bachelor's degree in business, payroll, accounting, or related area preferred.
Possesses strong personal computer skills.
Considerable proficiency in the use of automated accounting and payroll systems (Peoplesoft HRMS) as tools for performing duties.
