About this job

As an Associate Software Product Analyst, you will learn the basics of software development and gain experience working with end-users and software engineers, helping to ensure that our business software is highly functional, intuitive and meets or exceeds expectations. This entry-level position will work under the direction of senior staff or management.

What You'll Do

You'll gain valuable real-life, hands-on experience while working on a series of projects that involve coordinating development, implementation, and maintenance between business units and developers. We'll look to you to work with Sentry's analysts and business users to write functional and technical specifications for use by developers and others involved in the projects.

In addition, you'll:

  • Obtain project scope through unit interviews, workshops, site visits, scenarios, documents, tasks, and workflows
  • Analyze recommendations for system modifications/enhancement to meet the needs of the end users
  • Develop test plans and participate in system implementation of new or revised systems

This position is not a software engineer role and does not involve coding or using our coding systems whatsoever.

What it Takes

  • Current full-time college student
  • Majoring in Business-related or Information Systems-related field
  • Ability to work between 12-19 hours per week during the school year in a minimum of 2-3 hour increments
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week in the summer
  • The desire to expand your communication, facilitation, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Sentry does not offer employment in this program to holders of F-1, J-1 and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience
