Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized HR Specialist to join our team and work under our HR Generalist to handle a wide-range of HR-related tasks. Successful HR Specialists are able to multitask in a variety of different processes while remaining ahead of deadlines, deliverables, and the day-to-day management of ASun Star’s human resources processes. The HR Specialist reports directly to the HR Generalist in the Human Resources Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals.
- Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills.
- Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
- Schedule or administer skill, intelligence, psychological, or drug tests for current or prospective employees coming onboard at ASun Star.
- Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants.
- Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing, according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
- Evaluate recruitment or selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional, statistical, or testing standards, recommending revisions, as needed.
- Complete initial staff profile creation across multiple systems.
- Manage all on-boarding for all newly hired staff members at ASun Star.
- Manage staff handover to specific teams depending on the staff allocation.
- Any other duties as assigned by HR Department Supervisory level.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent people skills.
- Intermediate recruiting knowledge/skills.
- Familiarity working with HRIS software is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
Education, Certifications & Experience:
- Associate's Degree (Required).
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
- PHR/SHRM Certification (Preferred).
- 1-2 years experience working in an HR Specialist capacity (Required).
- 2-4 years experience working in an HR Specialist capacity (Preferred).
Role Schedule:
- Training Schedule: Monday through Friday from 09:00am to 05:00pm
- Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday from 09:00am to 06:00pm
- Orientation Schedule: - Twice a week orientation/Activation from 05:00pm to 07:00pm
Working environment & Physical Demand:
- Working in a fast-paced, high energy, family-oriented atmosphere.
- Will need to be able to lift at least 25lb.
- Must be able to sit and type for long periods of time.
- Must be able to sit and look at a computer screen for long periods of time.
Salary & Exemption Status:
- This is a salaried, administrative exempt role with a minimum of 40-hour workweek.
- $45,000.00 per year, payable on a bi-weekly basis, less any required deductions.
