Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

LHH is engaged on a search for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager for an exceptional nonprofit based in Reston, VA. In this role, you will be an individual contributor responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end analysis, among other duties, primarily focused on operating and capital expenditures. Strong critical thinking, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. Salary range is $125K-$145K based on experience, with excellent benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage the company's financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial information
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes
• Provide financial analysis and insights to the leadership team to help drive decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Manage headcount capital expenditures, tracking progress against budget and providing regular updates to senior management
• Assist in the month-end close process, working with staff across departments to review results especially regarding budget variances
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as needed

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant area
• CPA or Master's degree preferred but not required

 

Skills:

• Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong understanding of financial reports, GAAP, and financial principals
• Proficiency with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting using tools such as Cognos TM1 and Tableau; experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Experience:

• 4+ years of FP&A experience, preferably working with either non-profits or SaaS companies

 

Management:

• Individual contributor role managing the opex financials, but no direct reports

 

Salary: $125,000 - $145,000

Core Work Hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (some overtime may be required during budgeting and at quarter-end)

Location: Reston, VA - hybrid two days per week in-office and three days remote
